Life imitates art ?...

Just a quick note this week. Just finished thirteen, the bizarre tale of a newly minted teenager who goes horribly wrong so she can fit in (?). The film itself is an interesting bit of mess; perhaps it's just my difficulty relating to the story that prevents a good appreciation of it, but I can respect the concept enough (thought, too many cheesy scenes for me, like the girls strutting down the halls of school like evil Bratz dolls come to life).

But I digress. My main comment is this:

The lead, Evan Rachel Wood, plays a 13-year old girl who gets into the wrong crowd, starts doing drugs within 2 days of meeting a new friend (and some type of hard hallucinogen, at that), starts having relations with older boys, and gets into piercing and cutting.

Flash forward to today, where she is now a child (she's twenty, so that's a child to me) girlfriend of Marilyn Manson.

OK, so the bad apple in Thirteen is probably 10 times worse than Manson, but still, it seems both the girl and the actress have some daddy issues to work through.
