Trailer Commentary: Funny People

Is it me, or did the trailer to Judd Apatow's new Adam Sandler dramedy give everything away?  So Sandler's Old Comedian gets cancer, is gonna die, befriends Seth Rogen's Young Comedian, they become BFF, he finds out he's not dying, gets a new lease on life, and goes back to steal away his old girlfriend (Apatow's real-life hot wife).  Hmmm.

But lo!  Therein lies the rub.  The trailer shows practically the whole movie.  The only thing that could happen that we haven't seen is: HE GETS SICK AGAIN AND DIES.  And that's what I'm predicting.  

You heard it here first, gang.  This trailer actually GIVES AWAY THE ENDING by giving everything else away BUT the ending.  Astonishing.  I hope I'm wrong.  

Somehow, Trailer-Designers keep figuring out groundbreaking new ways to ruin movies every day.  Nice work, boys.
