Community: Modern Warfare

Since this freshman series has started I have at least on five different occasions declared a favorite episode of the season. After last night's episode 'Modern Warfare' a clear and absolute champion has emerged. For all of the nude billiard playing, debate against the handicapped, and chicken finger/Scorcesse fun I've had all season, they all pale in comparison to this one. A paintball competition jam packed with action movie cliches and references.

Just after a single viewing I caught the brilliantly written episode paying homage to 28 Days Later, The Warriors, Predator, Die Hard, and every single John Woo film ever. It is hilarious, amazingly accurate, and even incredibly shot. As an added bonus Jeff and Britta FINALLY... well just watch it for yourself here. If you are an action film fanatic like myself, then you too will recognize that this is a homework assignment that goes above and beyond to earn it's A.
